Speaker reconing can be defined as
the successful replacement of the removable components of a
loudspeaker. Components that are generally replaced include
the cone, voice coil, spider, surround, gasket, tinsel wires, dust
cap, and terminal.
If
your speaker has a burnt or rubbing voice coil, torn cone, or other
major damage, then speaker reconing might be right for you.
Many times, reconing provides a quality alternative to the costly investment of buying brand new speakers.
